QuoteReplyTopic: My "Hair extensions" method (pix) Posted: March 20 2007 at 4:25am
Hi guys
this is my method of putting in extensions, and I use it for the following reasons:
1: Coverage - enables me to have long extensions all over including the top.
2: can blend with your own color and change your own color somewhat.
3: Time to install the whole lot once you have made it up, is around 30 mins
4: good for fine/thin hair as there arent too many attachments
Basically
I get a long HH wig.
then from the top of the lace/skin top/mono/whatever,
I cut the pieces of lace that run between the hair wefts. Once I have done this for a few rows, I then sew say 3 or 4 rows of weft together. this opens up big holes all over the wig. Basically turns it into an integration piece.
I then stick that on my head, pull my own hair thru the big holes i have opened up, and then use a combintion of LG and micro links to attach it.
The result is a full head of long hair in a fraction of the time it takes to install a full head of extensions, and no worries about short top layers looking out of place or giving away the fact i have extensions in.
Heres a pic - not a very good one of the length Im afraid
also, if you are a DIY girl, you can buy a wig in a style you like, and save yourself the trouble of cutting it into style after.
This is an interesting concept.. I imagine that if this was a fully ventilated piece you might even have a few more styling options.. I can't imagine you would be able to wear this more than a week or two..
Explain picture #2 though.. Not sure why after opening up the spaces you sew some of the wefts together..
Here's your pics posted.. You have to place the picture link between the image tags

(I have extra spces in this example so the forum software doesn't turn it into a picture link..
