i was getting a bit frustrated with some of my long new growth being out while trying to match the texture of my weave..at the shop, the beautician made it look great..then after walking around, yep it started drawing up...or taking back on the old tight curl pattern..

I was so frustrated after flat ironing it, and watching it slowly start curling up again, that i decided to "whip a perm on it"..i thought i'd just "perm the ends"...and leave the base thick so that the tracks couldn't be seen..

Dumb!!!

after washing the perm out, and blow drying it..my hair felt like brillo...i swore it would break off at any second...My poor white boyfriend stood next to me in the mirror, which is not a good thing when a black woman is trying to be calm, while damn near having the flying sh*ts...

I turned the blow dryer on high, while he was yelling: "What's wrong? is your hair okay?!!!"Confused

No, if it was, i wouldn't be standing in the mirror with a blow dryer on at 1:00 a.m. in the damn morning...he took one look at the daggers in my eyes and fled from  the bathroom...

quick thinking, i ran into the cupboard and grabbed Aphogee deep conditioning treatment for damaged hair....

Whew...it's soft again..ladies..take it from me, if you haven't touched your hair in 2-3 years, and you have new growth...make sure you know what you're doing to your hair...Ouch

some days, it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.

yep..i have to laugh myself at the incident..my boyfriend is okay..and my hair softened up immediately...unfortunately, i've heard they've changed the ingredients...it doesn't look like the same bottle..

if they know mineral oil is not great for the hair...why did they use it?

companies still add alcohols to their products too even though they are very drying. if consumers don't question them and keep buying the product, why would they change? email them and ask why?

Ingredients like mineral oil and patroleums are fillers. They are least expensive then the more beneficial ingredients which means bigger profits for the company.
