QuoteReplyTopic: Dry Scalp?? Posted: September 07 2001 at 12:35pm
I was wondering if dry scalp had any relationship to geographics or demographics. And if so, is there any information or stats that would give me an explanation? Thanks for your help.

Nothing I have read indicates a dry scalp is more prevalent in a certain geographic area or among a particular demographic. A number of things can cause a dry scalp. Changes in the weather cause the scalp to lose moisture, especially in winter. Even frequent changes in air temperature from outdoors to inside can cause skin to dry and flake. Other causes of dry scalp include prolonged use of blow-dryers, alcohol-based styling products, and a sensitivity to strong shampoos. A dry scalp can lead to flaking and dandruff.
