My hair was damaged by anesthetics about three years ago. I used to have great body in my hair. Stylists could do anything with it. I have fine brown hair, now grown to a length below my shoulders. I desperately need a new style but worry that hair won`t "take" a new style. I need a wash and go style: short but not too short, maybe a bob. Need height and volume somehow as it just lays flat now, probably because its too long. Saw a short style I really liked on NBC national network news reporter Kelly O`Donnell but have been unsuccessful in getting a picture of her to take to a stylist. They sent me a picture of her from NBC but when it arrived it showed her with a long hair style, not the short one I saw her in on March 17 this year. My hair doesn`t take a perm well, even a light one, it breaks like crazy after a perm. Can anybody tell me how to tell a stylist what to do with my hair so I can have a new style?

honestly, the first time i got my hair cut short, i walked into the salon, sat down and started looking at books. i looked for 2 hours before i found the perfect style. you have a lot of options here. 1. go to your salon and look at the style books they have...some are outdated so if you dont find it there, look on the net, there a zillion styles on the net. 2. go to a grocery store/ drug store, and they always have short hair magazines, ranging from long bobs, to really short, cute cuts. i have always found many adorable cuts in these magazines. 3. if you still dont find a pic of what you want, go to your stylist, and tell him/her what length you want, and they should be able to come up with a style that fits your face shape :)
