i am a bit of a home-hair dye fanatic, and i`m pretty good at it (i`m also lucky to have *VERY* resilient thick, strong hair), but after well over a year of going platinum, bright red, dark red, platinum again, dark red, copper-blonde, et al., and without a haircut for well over a year (i`m a poor college student), my hair is begging and pleading me for help. basically from the ears down it`s fried. i`m going to have to shop my past-shoulder length locks into something closer to chin-length. i have a heart-shaped face (wide cheek bones, into a jutty-outy chin), which is a bit on the round side, a very long neck, and BROAD shoulders. i like the length because it makes my shoulders look narrower, but i can`t get around it, the hair has to come off.
my hair tends to be wavy/bendy. not curly, per se, but unruly, i like to fuss with, though, it so i don`t mind heavy-styling, but the length should be enough for a ponytail (everyone is lazy sometimes ;)).
i want a short-short `do, but my boyfriend isn`t a big fan of short hair, and while i don`t usually care a whole heck of a lot what he thinks about my hair (see: my bangs, he hates them), i do figure he has to look at me, so that is out.
after ALL THIS (hehe sorry ;)), any suggestions?
i don`t care if i`m wrong, `cos right always takes too long

WOW! Sorry your hair too such a beating. With a heart-shaped face, the goal is to create an overall balance by making the forehead seem narrower and the chin seem wider.This is best accomplished with styles that add fullness to the lower part of the face. Chin-length bobs are especially flattering to those with heart-shaped faces, as are lots of full, wavy curls (you have a real advantage in the curl department) -- all of which create an illusion of width at the lower part of the face. People with heart-shaped faces should avoid styles that emphasize the upper part of their face, as doing so will only make them seem "top heavy." Bangs, especially those that are brushed to one side, are ideal for helping break up the wide forehead that`s typical with the heart-shaped face. You have probably already done the deed so tell us what you chose and how it turned out.
