I have done a number of corn rows and they are very attractive when done properly. I do not know any web sites that show how to do them (they are really pretty easy, just tiny French braids) but do know that several braid books and some magazines have directions. A visit to your favorite bookstore may be in order. My best advice is to have the first one done by a professional. Bad things can happen if they are not done correctly. The most common error is to braid too tight and this will cause the hair to break off. If the corn rows are too tight, left in too long, and not properly cared for, traction alopecia can result. (Because of constant tension on the hair over time, corn rows can eventually cause damage to the follicles, resulting in a characteristic hair loss of the frontal scalp. Once the the follicles stop producing the hair, it does not grow back. Examples are Stevie Wonder and Lynn Whitfield. Of course, wearing a tight bun can do it too as what happened to pop singer Sade.) A professional can show how to do them correctly and how to care for them properly. Since this type of hairstyle goes against what your curly hair normally wants to do, be gentle with it. Good luck and happy braiding.
I was wondering if corn rows would look alright in my hair cuz i`m Indian(asian) and I have black curly hair... and does anyone know any sites where it has directions on how to do corn rows?
