I would say use a wide toothed comb. Start at the bottom of your hair and work your way up.

Snow White is absolutely right. Treat wet hair with great care as it is at its most fragile. A good wide tooth comb (make sure the teeth are smooth with no rough edges) and beginning at the ends is the best method.

The previous advice it right on. When your hair is wet, it`s at its most vulnerable, weakest state. That`s because the hair`s strength-providing inner bonds can be shattered when wet. Rough treatment of wet hair can strip the protective cuticle layer of the hair. Be kind to wet hair: (A) Shampoo and towel dry gently. (B) If hair tangles easily, apply a clean-rinsing conditioner in the shower and then immediately comb with a wide-toothed comb before rinsing out the conditioner. (C) Comb wet hair gently and slowly with a wide-toothed comb. (D) Take time to detangle knots. Don`t yank at them. (E) Never brush wet hair. You will stretch it too much and cause breakage. Be gentle!
