The barber needs to understand what your wavelength, (minimum hair length in order to see waves), is and not cut below it. Wavelength differs from person to person, so the barber must familiarize himself with your hair in order to cut it successfully.
Most wavers do not go below a number 1, with the grain, and get a haircut called a ceasar.
