When rolling the sides or your hair, what is the difference between rolling the hair upwards on the roller or downwards (you know, rolling towards the celing or rolling towrds the floor)? Does it achieve a different look?

Rolling up will give a bit more lift at the roots (while giving an upward "flip" at the ends), while rolling down will produce a smoother look.

For long hair, I would suggest rolling down. For above shoulder length, rolling up gives a nice flip to the ends.

How would you roll up with steam rollers and still have them stay in?
