Is a zig zag part ok for in the aspect of professionalism? As I`ve said in other posts, I`m growing out my SOmething About Mary cut. My hair is to my chin now , a little longer int he back. I like how the zig zag part down the middle looks. However, since I will be doing an intership in a professional environment, will it be ok to wear my hair like that.

Matters what the profession is. For example, a hip advertising company - it would be fine. A lawyer type - I don`t think so. Check out the hair of the others in the office and take a clue from them. Of course, I am assuming you are trying to "fit" in to make a name?

Since you are doing an internship, I would say probably not.

I am the youngest person at my company (26). I notice that when I dress and wear my hair more conservatively, I am taken more seriously. That`s just my experience.

Hello,

With regard to professionalism, I am certain that you might be able to pull off a little creativity while still remaining within the bounds of a sharp look.

Rather than the zig-zag look, you might consider a diagonal part, beginning on either side of your face, whichever is more flattering, and ending at the opposite side at the back section of the top of your head. This will also give an interesting look to the length as well, whether it is all the same length or layered.

Just a thought.
