I do not have any photos of Dave with his knee length hair unfortunately but maybe he will honor all of us with a recent pic of his hair. Which I know is awesome because he takes very good care of it.
Best wishes, Karen

You don't feel your hair was as nice when it was long? Sorry we here couldn't help you with care and feeding instructions (gee, I make it sound like adopting a pet). Maybe next time you try -- if you choose there to be a "next time" -- we can offer helpful advice.
Yes, the ends of my hair are about knee-length but it is very thin at that point. There's actually a few photos of me with a few of my friends that shows the length of my hair, in the TLHS archives. I don't recall offhand the number (and thus the URL) assigned to the photos.

You are so funny. I love your posts. :-) Dave actually sent me a photo a few years back because I wanted to see his hair and he definitely could be a model for some big company...Coke, Pepsi...hey, even Dell. They have an opening now. :-)

I think Hair Boutique should have a photoshoot project about long-haired men. They are such a rare and precious breed.
My male cousin has long hair now and has no idea how to fix it and manage it with hair-toys, without it looking girly. He is on the borderline of cutting it because he has no role models. These potentially long-haired guys need all the encouragement we can give them.
Mind you, I wouldn't want to attend any such photoshoot for errr hormonal reasons. Especially if they were as handsome as Dave "Dreamboat" Decker... I'd be fainting all over the place...

I'm sold on wearing my hair short now Dave, I like my short pixie/crop and the guy I'm marrying likes my hair this way. My man actually has longer hair than I do, his is slightly past his shoulders. It was even a little longer than that but last week he had it trimmed. He owns a small construction/home repair business and can wear his hair how he likes. He usually wears it in a ponytail when working. He knows I love long hair on guys and I would love for him to grow his hair super long like yours is, but I'm not going to push him on it, it is after all his hair. His hair is longer than most guys and I like his hair just fine.
Have you noticed Dave how all of the women writing here love long haired guys? It would be great if more guys wore long hair like they did twenty years ago, when I was a little girl. I agree with Uzma, you are a role model. You are masculine and handsome, so long hair works for you and you do wear your long hair, your "Lions Mane" proudly. You seem to keep your hair clean and well groomed and you seem like a nice, respectable guy so I would say you are a role model for guys who would like to wear their hair longer. Many women would like it, I know that!
What I really like though is the fact that these days men and women can wear their hair long, medium, or short in length, depending on what looks good on them. We have that freedom. If a woman wants to wear her hair short, to do a "Halle Berry" or a "Jamie Lee Curtis" and wear a very short hairstyle, she has that freedom. If a guy wants to wear his hair long he can. That is what I really like!

Hi Isla, I don't know the Coca Cola Light commercial... sorry! Post-headshot (yearrrss ago now) I shopped my image for modeling work -- on a lark -- in NYC. The upshot? Nobody wanted to hire me with the hair. Aside from polite "no's", the only thing "offered" was work conditional upon a haircut. No thanks!
Anyway, Dell seems happy with their "interns" ad campaign now. Guess the world got tired of "dude, you're gettin' a Dell" "Steve." Some people look at me and half expect me to talk like that.
Oh Uzma, you are just too sweet.
Re: your cousin, maybe steer him toward this board for support?
Princessmonica, I do have split ends! But every once in awhile I get a sharp pair of scissors and go on a "search and destroy (split ends)" mission. Otherwise I try to handle the hair with care. Use a wide-tooth comb, going as slow as necessary to avoid snapping and popping those strands... work out the occasional snarl with the fingers...
Thank you too, Lady Maria, for all of your kinds words as well! Yes, I am fortunate that some women like long hair on guys, because there are definitely many who don't! I've found, though, that with some it's a matter of unfavorable pre-conceived notions, which sometimes change once they get to know me.

DD : I have to remember not to confuse you with duke , or GodlessDave (from IIDB)
As for both pics of you, it's an inspiration to keep going further. I'm glad you didn't sell out for that modeling job (heck, I even evaluate it with a possible cut-or-no-job situation in my life too once, I didn't cut it, glad I didn't because the job lasted less than a year (can't compensate for 3 :P ) )
The Dell thing was a bit of tiring of the Dude, you're getting a Dell line, and the fact that he was arrested for marijuana possession.
what's your current length, and how long did it take to achieve it ? Because I'm at 44 cm, almost 3 years behind me (relative body length : nipple-height) and I just want to know how close I am to my goal :P
Yay for you being a mod also, maybe a bit late as celebration, but I haven't come here in 2 months.
(P.S. I'd tell you if I had split ends or not, but frankly, I can't see any, nor could I recognize them unless it was really bad :P They're just at a very variable length, which can be annoying.
I hate all of the following and lots more : Fundamentalists, racists, sexists, fascists, ageists (people saying seniors = senile , kids = stupid , 18 = immature or a combo of them), and bigots for causes yet to receive their own designation.

Welcome back after your respite. Glad to be an inspiration. ... and to hear that you also chose not to "sell out" for an "opportunity." Better ones (ones that don't require a haircut) do happen.
After growing for eleven years the longest strands are at the knees but it's quite thin near the ends. I just might be nearing my max length.
P.S. Those splits can hide anywhere, but it sounds like you haven't got a lot. Good for you!

The first pic is a bit blurry. I love the braid photo. Imagine if all of that hair were on just one person's head. I'm also amazed how close in color our hair is, Dave. I always think my hair is closer to Rainbow's color. Did we measure your hair that day?
Hope y'all like! :-)

Thanks for posting the links Jennifer Eve! I referenced these photos here the other week but I didn't know the links. I don't think we measured our hair that day (a month or so later, we did...). Your hair has grown since then, as has mine.
Thank you for the compliment, Lady Maria. We had a lot of fun taking those photos that day.
