Does anyone know what happens when you color medium blonde colored hair a darker shade, such as a light brown? I mean will it go green or some weird color or will it look natural?

My natural hair color is light brown/dark blonde with natural blonde highlights from the sun, but about a month ago I colored it with Loreal Excellence Natural Blonde. This made it a slightly lighter shade (not very blonde like you would see on the box). I would just like to know if it will work coloring it light brown...
