QuoteReplyTopic: Help! Ugly hairline! Posted: November 25 2001 at 4:49am
Hi, I`m new to this forum....
I`m not sure what face shape I am, but I have full cheeks and a round chin, so the bottom part is "Round", I don`t know what the heck the top part of my head falls under. My forehead is high, but not very wide. My "natural" hairline is also not very clear, it`s like, jagged or something.... I have a widow`s peak, but I`ve never seen anybody with one like mine.
Anyway, I got a short crop (v. v. short, and so I have bangs in the front) in the hope that I could hide my ugly forehead and the jagged hairline, but it only accentuated my chubby cheeks!
So then, I plucked some of the baby hairs (and some not-so-baby hairs) from the sides of my widow`s peak and further off to the side. I did it now since I knew that if it turned out horribly, I could just cover it with my bangs.
(Actually, my widow`s peak isn`t so obvious like in the diagram, but it`s there....)
It doesn`t look too bad after I plucked, except if you look really closely on the right side you can tell I plucked.
I just wonder if I should continue to do this. Is it abnormal? Would it cause damage or anything??? Please respond... my hairline has been bugging me for ages.... I would really like to have a wider widow`s peak (most people with a widow`s peak have fairly wide ones.... like Milla Jovovich, I`ll add a picture of her face)
I heard of some process called electrolysis or something to get rid of unwanted facial hair... but do people use this to reshape hairlines??? I`ve searched the internet any discussion about hairlines is usually about people concerned with receding hairlines!!!!
Well, this is long-winded but I just wanted to write down all my thoughts (I`ve been obsessing over this for some time.....)
Eek, I had to edit cuz the diagrams don`t seem to come out clearly... I don`t know how to make it work....

I really can`t tell from the diagram what`s up; but hairlines can and are changed by electrolysis.
However, you might want to make sure there is really something wrong with yours - Mila`s "peak" is barely there; if you want to see a good looking real widow`s peak check out Debbie Mazar - she likes her`s...g

Hi Waggy thanks for responding!!! Do you know any websites about electrolysis for changing hairlines? I want to see what kind of results they have.... I mean, changing a hairline on the face is different from changing a bikini hairline if you know what I mean, lol!
How do you know if there is something wrong with a hairline? I dont` know if there`s anything wrong with mine, it`s just jagged and doesn`t look good... plus I have more baby hairs on one side than the other, so it makes one side appear wider than the other...
Debi Mazar has a beautiful hairline, also she has a rounded forehead (more attractive IMO) But my forehead isn`t so rounded, and widow`s peak is only barely there... that`s why I chose Milla for comparison although I don`t think I could have one like hers either... my forehead is higher and narrower than hers (even with the baby hairs plucked)...
I also wanted to ask does anybody else pluck to reshape their hairline??? Electrolysis is expensive isn`t it? If it is I rather just pluck.... unless I find out it`s bad for me or sth....

Hmm, I think I`m getting the picture - you have major wispies!! Not a bad thing IMO - but it`s your hair, right.
I`ve never had electrolysis myself. If it was me I`d ask my family physician for advice on how to find a good person. Other than that perhaps your local beauty supply/salon could advise.
Noir, is it really that bad? I have a widow`s peak which, through junior high and high school I absolutely despised! But let me tell you, at age 32, I`m quite proud of it! It`s really not as bad as I thought at a younger age and is, in fact, quite stylish! I have a narrow forehead. I always thought it was too high to expose and wore bangs my whole life. A few years ago I decided to grow my bangs out...you know, just to see what it would look like. Everyone thinks it`s a much better look for me, as do I!
It is your hair, and you have to live with it, but try to love your hairline! I know I`m much happier for having done so! ;^)
