Murs Takes His Paid Dues Festival On The Road
Following the success of his second annual Paid Dues festival in Southern California in March, Murs is taking his show on the road with a tour beginning in the summer. In association with Guerilla Union (who are responsible for events such as Rock The Bells and the Cypress Hill Smoke Out), Paid Dues is making available their wide variety of indie hip-hop acts and culture to fans across the nation. Confirmed for the Paid Dues line-up are Felt (MURS [Living Legends] with Slug & Ant [Atmosphere]), Living Legends, Sage Francis, Brother Ali, Cage, Mr. Lif, Grouch & Eligh, Hangar 18, Blueprint and Lucky.I.Am, all of whom have performed on the Paid Dues stage over the last two years. Special guests will be announced on select dates. "The national touring of Paid Dues is a dream come true," says Murs, rapper and creator of the event. "It's what I had in mind when I first brought the idea to Guerilla Union -- something like a Warped Tour for underground hip-hop, where my fr iends and I could be outside in the daylight enjoying summer with our fans instead of cramped up in some dark smelly nightclub worried about staying up too late and being too tired for work the next morning."
