Frizz-Ease Wind Down Relaxing Creme has got to be the worst crap ever! It left my hair feeling dried out with sort of an icky coating. i swear, i used like a nickle size amount, (NOT the quarter-size they suggested) and it was still frizzy and poufy. Icky, icky. Anyone else have similar experiences?
Sorry to hear your frustrations. Frizz-ease is actually one of the best products you can buy on a drugstore or a supermarket. I suggest you ask your hairstylist how to use it. If he`s honest he`ll tell yah how to do it right.
I tried Frizz Ease too and had nothing but problems. My stylist told me it was crap and to try the Phyto Defrisant. That stuff works so much better. Another trick is to be sure and use a good moisturizing shampoo and possibly rinse out conditioner before attempting to use a defriz prod or you will have a hard time.
Edwin Paul Smoothing works great too but I prefer the Defrisant for my wavy, frizzy hair. :-)

What is wind down relaxing creme?? I`ve only used frizz-ease serum and it works great, and the bottle lasts forever!! And I live in one of the most humid climates in the U.S. However, the cream called miracle cream or something to that effect, doesn`t work as well. It is good at first but a few minutes later it seems to stop working...like it disappears or something!
He told you frizz-ease is bad and phyto is good! If he`s or her salon carries frizz-ease,they`ll be singing a different song....He just made a sale on your behalf..
Sorry to burst your bubble but my stylist carries ARTec only but he told me that the Phyto was best. So duh, he not only didn`t sell me ARTec and make a sale, he sent me to another line.
Sounds honest to me. :-)

We all do it, but it`s amazing how we make such generalizations about products!
Needless to say, not everyone has the same color, texture, and moisture-rententive abilities of hair. Therefore, what may work beautifully on one head of hair may be a horror story on another head of hair!!
It`s really impossible to say what`s the "best" or "worst" product for hair. All we have are our own experiences, and if one is a stylist, he has the experiences of his clients.
I am very impressed when a stylist recommends a product that they don`t even sell. There is no "right" or "wrong" product only products that fit all the many variations of how hair is. Some people have thin hair, some thick, some curly, some wavy, etc etc and they should try products that work for their type. It sounds like your stylist understands your hair and was sincere about pointing in the right direction for your hair type.

Hi Jennifer,
I agree that there is no "best" or "worst" hair care products and I agree with everything you say in your post. :-)
I also find it fabulous when a stylist will recommend a product that they don`t carry for the best good of the client`s hair. My own stylist works in a salon that carries a lot of products that just don`t work for me. She is constantly telling me about products to try for my long hair that she doesn`t sell and doesn`t make a dime off of.
We had a funny experience at HairBoutique.com about 3 months ago. A woman called on the toll free number and ordered a bunch of Phyto. Then she called back about 15 minutes later and asked if her stylist could call me before we finalized her order.
OK. Sure. Whatever works. So the stylist called me and he was just wonderful. He told me that he had read a lot about Phyto but personally sold Matrix products and wanted to know about the ingredients in the Phyto products that his client wanted to buy.
At any rate, after talking w/ the stylist and his client, she bought several of the Phyto products, took them to his salon and he showed her the best way to use them. That was one of the coolest things that has happened at HB.com since we started selling Phyto.
In all fairness, some people do great w/ drugstore products. It again depends on the condition and type of hair that they have. I have very very long, wavy, dry hair and my hair goes crazy unless I use a very carefully selected line of products that includes, but is not limited to, Aveda, ARTec, some of the Matrix, some of the Edwin Paul, some of the Phytotherathrie (but not all) and I am always experimenting with new lines from Wella and Paul Mitchell to see what works.
Many people love the drugstore brands and that is great if it works for them. In all fairness there are stylists that will try and sell the products that they make commission off but there are just as many stylists that will be honest and want the best for their clients. It is always impossible to generalize.
Thanks for the topic. As always, very interesting.
Best wishes & Happy New Year. Karen

Sorry,I did not mean to offend you about your stylist.Being a stylist myself,I`ved just seen to many ugly things that stylist do.But really.frizz ease is not bad at all. It`s just a matter of using it the right way and for the right type of hair.
Jeff & I and our team are going to work hard at checking for trolls and removing their posts. I am sorry when this happens since most of us just want to talk about hair.
Best wishes, Karen

I really appreciate how you and Jeff try hard to remove the trolls and the spammers. I hate it when people use this board for their own gains or to advertise their own sites or other rude behavior like attaching people who are here to talk hair. Which is why I am here.
I must admit,I`m no angel either,I tend to loose my control too fast when I get ridiculed and end up making a specticle out of myself. Positive, positive, positive!!When you have positive energy,& attitude you get positive results, and that`s something I need to develop fully as a hairstylist and a person..
