hair cream or gel

well, ive tried to grow my hair like 2 times before but both times i didnt like my hair after a few months, before it acually got long, so now im gonna try on a different approach, i wanna use something on my hair that is like a cream or such that will get my hair like greasy or w/e but not harden. i also dont want my hair to dry either, like as if towel dried, i want the shiny look and all but i dont want my hair to harden like gel, and preferably, i want some sort of cream thats not really heavy, like when i put gel on it feels heavy on my hair, like, thick and all, i want something more like water i guess, if thats not available i guess im out of luck, but if i can at least get this cream like thing that will keep my hair "greasy" and not harden... the reason im doing this is because i have wavy hair, not curly, but waivy, and when it gets somewhat long, it gets all big and puffy, and until it starts to go down rather than puff up, in other words until my hair starts to fall under its weight, i wanna use a cream or something to keep it from getting all big and puffy, any suggestions or products or types of cream or wax or gel i should use? in other words, what would be best to use, a wax or a cream?
