I have read on various messageboards that trimming your split ends is a good idea as long as you use sharp scissors for hair. Any suggestions on good brands? Where do I get these from?

Thanks.

well I don`t much about split ends and doing it your self but it sounds like a good idea as long as you can cut it straight line. You can buy barber scissors at almost any store that sells beauty supplys. Buy a small hand mirror and have your back to the big mirror and you will be able to trim your back this way if you don`t have your own techneique. Depending on how long your hair is you might be better off just going to the salon and having it trimed every other month.

There are many quality manufacturers of scissors. If you have a Sally`s near you, they have a wide selection. I have a pair of Nicecraft that has served me well for quite some time now. The type you are looking for can be seen at http://www.brain.net.pk/~nicecrft/h-d-s.htm. The one I have is 4 1/2 inches long and comes to a sharp point at the tip (like #103 in the picture). Good luck. :)

There are 2 kinds of scissors Bevel-Edge and Convex Scissors. Read more about those types of shears at this URL http://www.arius-eickert.com/articles/parts.asp

I personally recommend shears from Arius-Eickert. You can visit them at this site. http://www.arius-eickert.com

Right now they have 20% off all purchases before Jan 14th.

The Arius-Eickert are wonderful. I highly recommend them and have used them on my own ends.

I don`t recommend trimming your ends at stoplights though. :-) Believe or not a friend of mine with knee length hair used to trim her ends in rush hour traffic. One day she was not paying attention at a light and when it turned green she was still sniping. Unfortunately the guy behind her was also not paying attention and she was rear ended. Luckily she was not hurt (since she had a scissors in her hand) but it was a good lesson.

That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)
