My hair is several inches below my waist, and very thick.
For the last several years I`ve suffered from extreme headaches and we can`t find the cause. They were originally diagnosed as migranes, but then when NONE of the migrane meds work they changed the diagnosis to `chronic daily headaches`. Blah! I`ve tried every medicine and herb under the sun and we can`t figure anything.

Could it be my hair?? The Dr`s say no way. I don`t want to cut it if that isn`t the cause of my discomfort.
Thanks!
Emily

That`s a good possiblity. I`ve heard of tthat happening before. I knew a girl in high school, who had long hair, almost to her waist. Sometimes she would wear it up in a bun & it would be wet. The the end of the day she would get a stiff neck & headaches. If you think about it, it actually makes a lot of sence. With you`re hair being that long, there is a lot of extra weight that your head need to hold up & it can be quite a burden. I can understand you not wanting to cut your hair if you don`t have to, but you may want to weigh the pros & cons. It be doing more damage then you think. Even if it was only a few inches, it may help. Anyway, I hope this helps & good luck, with whatever you decide. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Emily,

i had to cut my hair off due to weight. I was in an auto accident in August and had hair 3 inches past bra. It is fine, but thick. My hair was pulling my head back (kinda like sticking ur nose up at someone but not that extreme)...

Even before the accident I had issues with headaches, and I know it was hair related. Once I cut my hair, the headaches were gone.

Right now, part of my physical therapy is exercises to help build my neck back up so i can grow my hair out again.

Hair type: fine but thick; natural blonde with 15% grey
