Akon's Attorney Says There Was No Criminal Conduct In Fan-Throwing Incident

After news surfaced on Tuesday (June 5) that he was under investigation for tossing a young fan off the stage during a concert in New York, Akon's camp has responded to the allegations of possible criminal conduct, saying they didn't feel any criminal charges would be warranted. The singer's attorney had this to say in a statement. "Given the information that we have reviewed to date, it does not appear to us that Akon was involved in any criminal conduct whatsoever," Benjamin Brafman said in a statement. "We are prepared to fully cooperate with any law enforcement agency that may be investigating this incident. We are confident that after a thorough investigation it will be apparent that no criminal prosecution of Akon is warranted." As of Tuesday, police were seeking the unknown boy to find out if he had suffered any injuries. They now have the name of the fan, but have not released it. Via fan captured video, Akon is seen onstage -- at the Annual KFEST concert at Dutche ss Stadium in Fishkill, New York on Sunday (June 3) -- speaking to the crowd about the music culture within America when a piece of paper is thrown at him from the audience. The singer stopped, asked for the fan who threw the paper to be pointed out. He then ordered a security guard to bring the young fan onstage, then removed his shirt and chain, hoisted him onto his shoulders and tossed him off the stage.
