I have straight, poofy, dry hair that never behaves.

I've tried growing it out, and it just gets really poofy and in the way. Styling it is really not an option because it doesn't behave at all. When i cut it short, on the other hand, many of the hairs stick straight up. It probably sticks up because i towel dry my hair, but i dont want to blow dry my hair...

I use Pantene Pro-V 2 in 1, and it doesn't seem to help much.

Here are some pictures of what it currently looks like.

What should i use on my hair, and how should i cut it?

I think you might consider a longer style - like 3 - 6 inches long.  Then you could go beyond the poof lengths.  The weight of the hair will hold it down, looked at the pics, looks like nice shiny hair should look good a bit longer. then products for your hair to control the poof will work much better.  You might want to switch to the Pantene Smooth and Sleek shampoo and conditioner- separate bottles instead of combination product.  I love Pantene, despite what some people say about salon products being so much better, I think they are just into that mentality.  Because Pantene works really good.

I have the same problem with my hair, the poof and some that stick straight up when short.  My hair is now 2 inches + and it sits down much better now, I use Pantene like I described, and use VO5 hot oil and protein treatments every 3 - 4 weeks and my hair looks very shiny.  When my hair is wet I towel dry until still a bit wet and get my hands wet, but not dripping and apply a small amount of Alberto gel, and spread all over my palms and work in totally into my wet hair.  Gives me a great look, controls poof and flyaways- I recommend trying this too
Hope this helps.
