Indian male..hard to manage long hair

Hey guyz, i am an indian male...i recently tried to grow my hairs long on the back and spike in the from..but lately i have problem manging my hairs in back..it kinda curls to the side..and curls up on th back...i want it straight...and i have been using the gel..and it give me the wet look..and when i try to spike it in the fron...it stays straight for a while..and then curls down....how do i make my hair straight...
 
and what and how is thinning done????
