First of all, I would like to thank you Dave and Uzma for replying to my questions. Will let you know if messaging the scalp helps srimulate hair growth. Moving on to another subject, when I go to work, I keep my hair tied up in a ponytail. As my hair gets longer, I would like to try braiding my hair so please Dave, could you please write up instructions that you use to braid your hair. Thanks.
Too bad I didn't find this forum until last weekend because if I had, I'm pretty sure my hair would be much longer by now. I'm saying that because each time this girl from work told me that I needed a trim, I let her do it because I thought she should know seeing that she had taken an hairdressing course. Well it seems to me that each time she gave me a trim, she always cut way more than needed. Now, no more trims for me.

I can't guarantee my trick to work, nor its effectiveness (I've only braided my hair 3 times in my life so far).

Take your 6 most important fingers, and bend the other 4 back, they're not needed.

'< the thumb., and both the index and major finger, each hand.

Split your hair into 3 hopefully equal groups. one group between left thumb and index (L1) , one group left index and major (L2) , the third in R2 (self-explanatory). Send what is in L2 to R1. Now, the tricky part is to get the hair from L1 to L2. Rotate your wrist outward (if you know what kote-gaeshi is, well, that way). Your fingers should tend to have the index really want to point out. You have to bring it around underneath the strand while keeping it under tension and once under you should be able to close the fingers of L2. Mirror on other side, and repeat. You won't get the best braid in the world, but it will be one. You'll have to practice, as I will have to.

Any better trick on braiding will be appreciated.

Maybe rotating it the other way is better, but I would like to see someone more experienced with braids to say so.
I hate all of the following and lots more : Fundamentalists, racists, sexists, fascists, ageists (people saying seniors = senile , kids = stupid , 18 = immature or a combo of them), and bigots for causes yet to receive their own designation.
