You are brushing in two different directions for the same area.  This causes the wave patterns to "confuse" and thus  it creates the problem of criss-cross and meandering connections.  Make sure that you are brushing in a uniform and straight motion from your crown to your hairline in all directions outward.

It can happen to the top of your head to.  A waver named Supr3m3e has that same problem on his top.  You might have to scalp yourself and start from scratch if the problem is severe and you want an improved pattern.  Trying to change an existing wave pattern without getting scalped is very difficult.

comb, it will force your hair to where you want it, now, you have to durag to lay it down, then brush it into the correct direction(the direction you combed
it gonna keep going back to the original direction if you dont keep duragin it

try it, i did this on my top where i had a slight error, andit worked!

im from london we dont have wallmarts and the shops near me  sell wide toothed.
i know it sounds like a stupid problem, but my hair is mad thin, but i have alot on my head which makes it look thick.
if i would b abvle to comb, theni would have to uncontrolably wolf, and that would be impossible to control.
even when i had an afro i foind it hard to use a afro comb, it woulod glide through my hair like white peoples (no offence)
so i dont really know what to do about that.

1st...Time to get a new brush. I would perfer you got one with harder bristles than the one you have now. for all around new brushing experience. A new brush is like a new girlfriend. If things not going right with the one you have now, dump her.....

2nd...The left part by the ear can be from a number of things.

Thats the area that the wave cap and du rag tend to mess up alot. When using your new brush make sure to put most focus in that area,,,,,,,Brushing all the way down past the ear..,..,.,Like your trying to brush your ear too.

Look up the king cash method of wearing a du rag un till that area starts to connect. This would help with the lines caused by du rags and wave caps.
