Styling questions

Hey everyone, I came here seeking out some advice for my hair.

Basically, I've always liked the way Ben Burnley of Breaking benjamin has his hair, and have styled it that way, but I want the advice of everyone... Do you think it looks alright on me?  And if so, do I style it properly, and how would you go about getting it looking better?

If you don't think it looks alright, what style do you guys think would fit me good?

And also, I use gel, but it seems that it leaves my hair kind of shiny if I use a bit too much, but if I don't use enough the hair just doesnt stay... I read about this styling paste stuff, would that work better?
