QuoteReplyTopic: So I really need to permanently straighten my hair Posted: July 23 2007 at 5:32am
I'm a guy (if you couldn't already tell by my username) and I straighten my hair mainly for the pointy and piecy look/texture it gives and after thinking it over i've decided that I deifnitely want to ditch flat-ironing every morning and go for a permanent method such as chemical straightening or the japanese process. Problem is they're very costly -- the japanese thing starts at $400 or $500 at most salons. I really just want to be able to shower and go and not worry about straightening. So, is there any other cheaper way to do this? If not, does anyone have any experience with chemical relaxing? How much does it cost? Is it worth it?
Chemical relaxing is essentially just a perm, without the curlers (so it even should take less time because they don't have to roll it up). Salons have been doing that forever, so it shouldn't cost too much, nowhere near 400 bucks. Call around some cheaper salons near you and ask them their prices.
