I`m going to get my hiar done today. Could I have my hair colored, and then highligted too, within the same day? I`ve colored my hair many times before, and my hair never gets dried out. I used to have blonde hair with highlights, but I`ve had dark brown (almost black) for quite a while now, I don`t find it attractive anymore. I lighented it up quite a bit a few weeks ago, and I want it to be blonde again, but not without highlights. Will it be okay for me to ask for it to be highlighted also today?

Hi,

The best way to tell if this will work for your hair is to do a little isolated strand test first before you do the entire hair. If your hair is healthy and you test a few strands before doing your whole head...you should be in good shape...if the test turns out good.

If you are going to a salon...the stylist should be able to tell you if your hair can handle both color processes at the same time.

Let us know how it turns out.

Best wishes,
Karen

:( When I went in, I had dark brown hair that I wanted lightened a little and highlighted. She decided for me that I should come back at another time and have it highlighted. She also decided to strip my hair, which she did twice, and then put color in. It turned out very badly. It`s an auburn/red/orange color. Even if I go back and have it highlighted, it still won`t be anywhere close to expectations. Plus, I`m trying to grow my hair long. Now the ends are very dry and split (she said she didn`t have time to trim it because she had another customer waiting, and she knew I was coming back to get highlights.) My hair is thinner and so dried out now. I can`t straighten it or curl it, because it already dry and spliting, and I don`t want to fry it anymore. I had this done at a JCPenny`s salon, I thought I`d have way better results than I got. I bought hair vitams and am using a really good moisturizing conditioner, and just letting it dry without using a blow dryer. If my hair gets better fast, in about a month, I`m going to go back to my safe color, plain brown. Unfortunatly, prom is also a month away. Now I`ll have crappy hair for prom. Oh well. :(
