Hey Ladies!

I am curious if any of you have ever dyed fusion extensions while they are installed?  I am ready for a color touch up and am thinking about doing an all over color.  Can this be done if we keep the color mostly away from the bonds?  What about with a semi-permanent color?

Anyway, I am toying with trying to go 1-2 shades darker and add in some wefts.

I dont recommend it. Some people do it and have no problems, but I think its a disaster waiting to happen. Dye caught in the bonds can destroy the bonds or even worse dye trapped in the bonds can damage your hair.

And certainly avoid BLEACH. I know a gal that successfully bleached her roots all the time while wearing pinchbraids, and then ONE time didnt get the bleach rinsed out well, and when she went to take out the extensions all of her own length also all came out. The bleach that had been trapped in the pinchbraids broke off ALOT of her own hair.

If you MUST color your roots while the extensions are in I would only do the top and have someone else do it that can see exactly where the dye is going.

A semi perm color may not be as be as risky, although I dont have that much experience with colors/bleach etc. so maybe someone else will have some better advice.

It shouldn’t be a problem to dye the extensions.

Keep the colour away from the bonds.

Remember that you can’t change the colour of the bonds.

So if you 2 shades darker, the bonds will stay in the colour they are in now, and may show.

Thank you both.  I will give it some thought.  I dont want to risk damaging my hair.
