QuoteReplyTopic: RK Hair Products? Posted: September 05 2007 at 12:11pm
Hi everyone,
I just found out I got a saturday job in a salon and they want me to do hair extensions there for them, so hopefully this will develop into a full time thing!
But right now, I am looking for somewhere that does reasonable prices for bulk loads of hair to use at the salon.
I know about cheap prices = cheap hair and all that but does anyone know where I can get remy hair extensions for like £90 a head? Or maybe even cheaper?
I am finding it so difficult because I will only use naturally straight or naturally curly. I won't even bother buying anything that has a processed texture.
I have been on RK Hair products site and think they are my best bet so far but I just wanted to know what everyone else has thought of them and if their curly hair is ok, since I want them to colour it, does it hold up nice?
Any suggestions on other sites, please PM me, thanks alot!

I've worn quite a bit of Rk hair.It really is good hair most of the time. But you get an occasional bad batch.
The gray hairs arent too many, but there are always a few.And there are always nits.At least this has been my experience. Its been awhile since I ordered.I know they raised there prices a bit so maybe that was so they could take care of these problems.
I seem to remember DivaVocals knew someone who ordered alot and got nit and grey free hair. But I know noone has ever complained about these things from wagman. But I havent worn wagman so I cant vouch for its quality.

26 inch, machine weft, #1B Str8--- I purchased last yr & I am positive it was processed hair. I believe RK sells only processed hair & is owned by IH <-- remy/ raw Indian hair= nits which were discussed above.
RK Held curls great !! Also it bled the color when washed ( had to wash numerous of times before it stopped ). I was not happy with the breakage it was quite excessive---> possibility of just that specific batch ? A full install of that hair I purchased would not last longer then 1.5-2 months with my hot iron/ abuse.
I know quite a few members have tried the RK hair,, hopefully they will post w/ more details-experiences.
Personally I am a wagman girl EC-DC or FBW (long term use -best bang for your dollar /// closest match I have found for my texture).
I never purchased from them again,, it was too dark & ended up using as a filler in my Wag/ FBW. Believe it or not--- it turned out to be a great blend.
I really like RK's hair.. I purchased 8oz of handtied and 8 oz of Machine wefted hair. It was beautiful with great soft waves.. I loved that install because the hair was LOW maintenance.. A BHM member gave me 4 oz of this hair and it too was beautiful. I purchased more through a group purchase last year to add highlights to this hair.. All of my RK hair is beautiful soft hair with no split ends and no nits.. Dunno if I'll be buying more.. Mostly because I have so much of this hair I really have no need to buy more .
and LHD you remembered correctly about my friend with the large batch order.. However he ordered from RK's sister company Indian Hair Industries. Every bundle of hair he got in that order was gorgeous, soft shiny hair with no splits ends and NO nits..

Samantha-Jane, congrats on the new job!
I have tried the curly texture from RK and I would not purchase it again. The straight hair, however, was really good for the price and I wore it for a while at a super long length, cut it and then wore it for another install. I have purchased from RK several times and once there were some small, strange, dead, winged creatures {{shudder}} in the bag but they shook right out. Lice shells? Yes, they were there as well and had to be cleaned off.
Have you tried the Bohyme Remi Celebrity Elite? It's at the price range you mentioned and the blonde hair is very good, imo. I've personally worn the straight and bodywave and it lasted a full install +.
If you've ever heard of Wagman, they sell natural off black wefts in various textures. It's good Indian hair. There's a company overseas that also buys from their supplier and the hair is cheaper per weft. If you're interested in any of that, drop me a PM.
What is the difference between Celebrity Elie Bohyme Remi and Bohyme Remi? Is Celebrity Elite a brand? Are thy selling Bohyme Remi or do they call their own hair Bohyme Remi? I am confused...
If you do a seach you might find some info and some discussions that took place quite some time ago.
Celebrity Elite is not owned by Fashion World (Bohyme), and claim no connection to Celebrity Elite. But many people who have used both are happy with the quality of the Celebrity Elite and claim it is comparable if not identical.
I have never used the Celbrity Elite, so I cant make any comparisons
