i keep reading rinsing with the cool water or the coldest water you can stand is best for you hair. in one site it said cold water helps not to cause breakage. is this true? i know cool water is supposed to make hair shinier but helps with breakage?
I've never heard that about the breakage, BUT can theorize that since cold water closes the cuticle of the hair and causes it to lie flat (which is why it makes it shiny), perhaps the flatness keeps it from catching on stuff and breaking???? I don't know, just theorizing because it's too early to be up and I'm trying to get my brain open!!!
That's a good theory, Karrinne. I never thought of that before but it seems plausible. One of the claims of haircoloring used to be that it seems to give hair more "body." This could just be the rougher cuticles catching on each other. These days it seems the haircolor ads don't talk about "body" but rather show incredible shine. Hmmm...
