QuoteReplyTopic: Looking for a Good Hairstyle for large woman Posted: October 26 2007 at 7:27pm
I am approximately 5'7" and overwieght. I have a Pear shape face with medium hair length. I am looking for an easy to care for hairstyle that will not accentuate my size but at the same time looks professional. I have never been good at styling so the style needs to easily cared for. My hair is very straight. I have a lot of hair but my hair doesn't appear to be thick because it is fine -- age has really played havoc on me in more ways than one. In the past I have continuously permed because my hair easily goes limp. Can anyone help me in finding the ideal hairstyle?
I've seen lots of places advocating hair to the mid neck or shoulders with face framing layers for rounder faces, and I've seen this style look good on heavier women with thick straight hair. In my opinion, heavier women also look lovely with very long hair, down or in updos (just my opinion though). The problem with the shorter styles is where the layered ends have to be flipped upwards in the morning with the curling iron to make it look stylish, that takes a lot of time in the mornings. If you choose the mid neck or shoulder length, and just get the gradual face framing feathering to make layers around the face that hug the jawline, you won't have to do anything to it in the mornings except maybe wet it so it lays down.
If you want it to look really stylish, go for the highlights or dimensional dyes that are popular now. But anyway, you've got to go for something you like that makes you happy, that is what's most important.
