What is the BEST Thermal Protectant Spray or Gel ?

I just started straightening my hair.  I have a Chi but also just ordered a Sedu, which I haven't gotten yet.
 
My question is - what is the BEST Termal Protectant Spray or Gel to use?  I have one from Aveda and one from Farouk Systems.  I just don't know - there are so many of them out there.
 
I am really trying to keep my hair from massive damage from using an iron.  I only wash my hair once a week (may be gross - but if I wash it too much it dries it out).  I have very, very tight curls.  Not course and thick but tight none the less. 
 
Any of your responses are so appreciated.  Love this site and help from everyone!  Tongue
