Hello, I have a japanese hair and when i do not style my hair it gets really curly/wavy and VERY gritty. As of right now my, my hair is chemically straightened and considerably long. Its about inch and a half on the side and the back, about four inches on the front and bottom back and about three inches on the top so I have the option to put it up. My hair kind of look like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/10663289@N03/938468065/ . I have the same length proportion but mine is about an twon inches longer.

Straighting helps save me TONS of time from using straight iron but I am getting over having long hair and would like to shorten up hair with the same proportion mentioned above. If I did that though, chemical straighntening would not be an option for me because it would be too short to straighten it at the salon. I can grow out my hair for straightening and cut it after it is straightened but my hair grows unbelievably fast so the short hair straghtening effect would not last for long.

So my question is: how can I have a short hair and maintain it to be straight? I do not want to spend a long time straightening my hair with blow dryers and flat irons. Im wondering if anyone here can tell me how I can have straight short hair with minimal effort while keeping my hair very soft and managable. I am in college right now and the only reason Im keeping my long hair is because it is easy to maintain. My ideal hair style is like the link I have posted above but about an inch and a half shorter. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thank you!
