Hey guys just wanted to say this website is awesome.  I really dont know how to say thanks for all the techniques to getting waves. I just got a haircut on Saturday, and was wondering what you guys do after haircuts. I diddnt wet my hair at all yesterday and just brushed and Du Raged. I only just washed and conditioned my hair about 10 minutes ago, and put in a lil pomade also. Then I sprayed my Du Rag a couple times, and am planning on putting in Lets Jam green top before I go to school tomorrow. Am I doing everything correct so far or should I be doing something else

-Sorry about the no pics I have to get my dad's camera to take them which he's really picky about

Sounds bout right, cept one thing.  I really dont think you should put Lets Jam in over top of your pomade.  Pomade and Lets Jam are used interchangeably.  Lets Jam I prefer for shorter cuts, and pomade for longer hair or wolfing.  Usually you don't want to wake up in the morning and put anything else in your hair after taking off ya durag.

^^co-sign. just constantly keep brushing and moisturize. And if u do use  a pomade with a short cut use somethin light like 360. But bsides that it sounds pretty str8, experiment and do ur own thing

This is the unabridged version of my after haircut washing theory.

I don't recommend washing your hair after you get a haircut.  There are two main reasons why I say this.  First, you should wash your hair before you get a cut so that it is clean and free of products.  Since you should wash your hair prior to your cut, washing it afterwards is redundant and pulls out more of your hair's natural oils that its trying to reproduce.  That's also why I don't recommend over-washing.  Second, by not washing your hair right after you get a cut, you allow your haircut and your new length wave pattern to set in.  This is especially true if you do not have a strong base wave pattern.  Even if you have a strong wave pattern, you will lose some defintion if you immediately wash your hair after a cut.  I recommend brushing off the loose hairs with a soft brush, adding a moisturizer or small amount of pomade, if desired, followed by brushing and putting on a durag or wave cap, if possible.  After a couple of days, your hair cut and its pattern should be set and then it should be okay to wash. Also, note that you should use warm to semi-hot water, but not scolding hot, to wash your hair.  The warm to semi-hot water opens your hair's pores and allows your hair follicles and attached strands to relax causing your waves to lay down better while shower brushing.  It the same concept that spas use for opening up your face's pores when they place a warm towel on it.  After you finish shower brushing apply a small amount of cool water to your head to allow your pores to re-close.  Then apply a moisturizer or pomade, if needed, and continue brushing.

Remember:  After a haircut, be in a rush to brush, but don't prematurely wash.

After I get a haircut I don't do nothing to it for at least two days just so that I can maintain the fresh cut look and show off my waves to all my beautiful women that I sleep with(Lol). If I get a darker cut(no skin/scalp showing) I might touch up with a soft brush after 2 days if I get a lighter cut I don't mess with it at all otherwise my hair can possibly straighten out.

I guess it depends if your hair is trained and how recently you washed your hair. I generally wash my hair two days before a cut and add no products after the wash. After I cut my hair, I brush all the loose hairs out, lightly spray my head with water, brush until damp, and durag. This lays my hair down. At night I shampoo and condition, then follow the steps of my method. Also my waves are trained and set in nicely

After my 4 hour long preperation that involves washing my hair, duraging and brushing until my ass is planted in the barbers seat thats it my cut preperation is the stuff that legends are made out of, I literally brush until I hear them clippers start buzzing I don't eff around with my cuts I maximize the results of every cut.
