Hey,

I have just gotten synthetic track hair extensions and I was just wondering how to take care of them. Previously I had braided extensions so im not used to having to look after my hair!

How often should you wash your hair? Should you wash and condition the synthetic hair or just your own? Should you wear a shower cap on the days you dont wash it? What about swimming? How often should you brush it? Mine seems to get tangled easily and when i brush it a lot of it comes out! What products should you use on it? How do you care for your natural hair with the weave in (if its relevant, im african, I think my hair is 4b but its relaxed)?

Its mainly the washing and brushing im unsure about! Could I get some advice?

Thanks in advance

PS I know people will say to get human hair extensions but im only 17 and I cant afford it! One day...

Hi kloud, How are they installed? You care for your extensions as you would care for your hair. You want to wash your hair and extensions at least once a week. You can wear a shower cap so you would have to dry and restyle your hair.
Some people use fabric softener on their synthetic hair(that sould help with the tangling) but I don't know if they've  done that while the hair is installed. Your synth hair is coming out because its weft isn't holding the hair in. It needs to be sealed if you plan to reuse them.

Thanks for the advice mshoney!

I forgot to mention that they are sewn in. I dont plan to reuse the hair or anything. I was just unsure if that much hair is supposed to come out since it doesnt grow back like real hair! But now that ive (kinda) worked out how to take care of it properly, not as much is coming out!

Thanks!
