this might seem like a dumb question but please, save me the laugh.. ok its TWO QUESTIONS.. haha.
ok so i have taken off my hair extentions cause they were bugging me and i didn't like how the stylist had put them in plus they were constantly coming off. i wanted to get either tracks or clip ons.. which are better?

Question number two: (the dumb question) What should i do with the old extentions? should i throw them a way or could i re-use them some how?

Tracks or clip ins...well its really just a matter of personal preference. IMO clip ins are ok if you are wearing them on occassion, but most people opt for something a little more permanent if wearing them all the time.

Saving the old extensions really just depends. If they hair is in decent condition and you might reinstall this method, or if you can use it for another method then certainly save it! Big%20smile

It really is a matter of preference... I wore clip ins for forever before putting in wefts (I do it myself)... and the nice thing about clip ins is you're not committed to em for any length of time and you don't have all of the added maintenence/ styling time of having all that extra hair on your head.  But if you're wearing em all the time (like I was eventually) and you are willing to put a little extra effort in, it's WAY worth it to get a new install.  I've been doing LG with 18" hair and it's worked out great! (this is my first install however so we'll see, lol)... the other thing I've noticed is I can do a lot more (besides just wearing it down ) with the "track" extensions than I could with the clip ins....

It sounds like me and you have the same issue with strand by strand methods. They really bug me for some reason and I don’t like worrying about them coming out. I like a method I can be rougher with and treat like my natural hair for the most part.

Clips ins are fun, however I have found them to be a nuisance to get in just right. They can also be heavy on fine hair unless you can find a really nice set that works well with your hair texture.

If you are looking for a more permanent method of extension, tracks or weaves are an option I am wearing a sew in weave and LOVE it. I can easily go two months before needing a tightening and redo. It depends how fast your hair grows as some can go longer and some less. You just want to have it redone when it feels too loose to be secure. You won’t have to worry about shedding bonds and weaves are quite versatile with proper placement of wefts. I am able to wear my hair in updos, pinned up on the sides or even high ponytails with no problems at all. You just want to make sure you have a good color blend and they are quite undetectable.

You can re-use the hair removed if it’s in good condition still. I don’t know how long you wore it for or any chemical processes it might have gone through. That can make a difference in the longevity of extension hair but if you feel its still nice hair, keep it for certain! Good luck.

I have super fine thin hair that has thinned out even more due to medication.  My hair can no longer support full time extension wearing.    I wear clip ins daily, and I love it.  It takes me only 5 minutes to put them in.  Since I make my own clip ins, I can customize the colors and thickness.
