Hi All

I have shoulder length fine curly hair (I'm mixed race so my hair is afro-ish) and desperately need a change.  I visited a salon in London who suggested straight extensions that are sewn on over my own hair which is cornrowed underneath.  Apparently they need to leave some of my own hair out on top to make it look more natural, but I'm worries about that part as my own hair is very flyaway and has a mind of it's own!  Can anyone provide me with any advice on what other options I may have that don't involve using chemicals on my own hair?  I'm not too up on these things so would really appreciate some help.

Thanks!

If your hair is not relaxed, I would advise that all your hair is braided.

Thanks Shirilyn.  My hair is not relaxed, so if I did get it all braided would the effect still be quite natural looking?  What exactly do I need to ask for?  Also, do you think that I would be ok to use a monofibre product rather than human hair?  Sorry for all of the questions but I've never done anything like this before.  Si.

As long as the hair is not plastic  or to shiny looking you can purchase whichever hair is more realistic. If your wanting a natural part I would suggest a closure. If your're not just have the top of the weave closed with whatever hair your're using.
