QuoteReplyTopic: a day in the life of hair extensions Posted: January 03 2008 at 11:22am
i am 99% sure i am going to take the extension "plunge" and wanted to hear from veterans in re: to daily routines and care. 1 - before, during, and after shower 2 - how often to shampoo and condition (recommended products) 3- styling techniques and what products to use and those to avoid 4- how to wear at night (braid, ponytail)
my daily routine is to shower in the am, using shampoo and then conditioner on ends (nape of neck down), use a wide tooth comb after shower, towel wrap it, apply makeup, take hair out of towel, apply a leave-in condition on ends, use dryer (round and paddle brush), flat iron the unruly pieces and hairspray. i have a habit of playing with the front pieces and side pieces during the day but pretty much leave the back alone.
what do i need to alter or add to my routine?
TIA

Hey Collee, what type of extensions are you considering? A lot of the people here do their own install with tape/wefts. I get sew ins and some people get fusion done or they do it on their own.
doing the SO.cap but haven't decided on the warm or cold fusion. yes, i wash my hair everyday. tends to get oily if i don't. was told that i could wash the top of head (own hair) but not extensions everyday.

Yeah, if you were told that then cool. I'm not familiar with the SoCap bond and it's integrity. I'm sure the person installing them will go over the care and maintenance with you.
