Oh dear where should I begin. I had lost a few wefts and since there was so many in there I decided to take it out..it was way to heavy. I bought bond remover from sally's it was oily, my first mistake was i hopped in the shower and wet my hair, when i read the directions it said to use on dry hair. so I hopped out and put it on my damp/wet hair. I saturated it pretty good with the bond remover and the wefts came out pretty easy..a little time consuming because I wanted to be gentle on my thin hair. She put so many wefts in it took over and hour and half. I had alot of glue residue and i remembered she said to put conditioner in and comb it out. well as I combed I saw huge globs of hair coming out I initially thought some of it was leftover hair from the weft on the glue, then I realized it was my hair and it kept coming and coming out!!!!!!!! I freaked, my husband came in and he freaked too. I have a foodtown plastic shopping bag half full of my hair now!!! I had these in for less then two weeks what happened??? Now I am back to square on after two years from the damage GL did to my hair the last time..Now I still have a ton of glue on my hair and scalp and im afraid to mess with it anymore. Does anyone know what I can do to safely get the rest out without more hair coming out?

You used liquid gold, right? I know acetone takes it out very well. You can also use the LG remover but it's got a really strong smell and it takes multiple washes to get the oil residue out...So try the acetone first. Perhaps you can put it in a spray bottle and direct it onto the areas where you have glue. When your done, get right in the shower and wash out the acetone.
I've read that we loose between 50 - 250 hairs per day. I think the hair you see coming out is the hair that shed and yes, you may have pulled some hair out upon removal. I tried LG once and noticed a lot of hair coming out. It scared the shiz out of me so I never did it again.
I apologize it was not LG it was a black glue like from sally's or something. MY concern is either my hair couldn't take the glue or the remover. It actually came out like a weft that had fallen apart. i lost about two fistfuls of hair so far, I used olive oil to get most of the residue out and I still have quite a bit left in it, ill do more later. Has anyone else experienced this kind of reaction? Like I said the wefts came out easily just the glue was left on the hair, when i went to wash out the oil remover is when it just came out in globs. I seriously look like I am a chemo patient now.

Are you serious? You look like a chemo patient? OMG, I'm so sorry this is happening. I don't know if acetone will work on their glue. It's worth a try. If the olive oil is working, soak your hair in it and leave it on under a plastic cap for a couple of hours. That should break down the glue.

Oh sourgirl.....latex glue is not your friend as you are finding out......it will take some time and lots of conditioner to remove that stuff....especially if that is the only way you had your weft attatched......I;ve used it before and I still have a bottle in my stash just incase I runout of LG.....and LG can be scary if you don't take your time with removal also. Nice thing about LG it breaks down over the course of 3-4 weeks....it's still secure but easier to get out. Now if you use LG and turn around and try and get it out soon after install.....it's a bear as well to remove.
Anyway......greasy products will help remove the latex glue.......I had one remover that Sally's sold that took it out pretty well but I can 't remember what it was...I'll look in my stash..I think I saved the empty bottle. It worked better than anything else I've tried. Also, don't get too upset about the hair loss...it is to be expected....they say we lose somewhere around 100 hairs a day and when it is glued in...well your hair can't drop out like normal...hince your gonna see a lot of shedding or hair loss. AND if you were fighting that latex while trying to remove the wefts...well then you may have pulled some out....I know I did when I first started using that and the LG.....time taught me to take it slow and if it wasn't bugding......let it sit some more and massage the remover around the weft until it lets go....don't force it or you will lose a lot of your hair.
How long did you have the wefts in?
Are you going to try another method? Well I hope you find one that works for you. Don't get discouraged yet....lots of other methods to try!
Thanks,
JeepGirl
Current install-Bohyme Bodywave #30 and #14 in the straight hair/ they didn't have the #14 in bodywave, so I mixed them...works great!

JeepGirl is right, most likely you're seeing the hair that shed out but was stuck on the weft. It sounds like you had several wefts so that's probably the majority of what you're seeing.
I had them in about two weeks, I took them out because they were lifting. I had about 16 tracks total which was two packs of hair which is alot for me, it seemed way to heavy for my head and with all the the hair alot of tangleing were going on. when the wefts came out there were little of my hair on them it was the glue that got left behind. I put more of the remover on the glue and when i was combing it out is where the hair came out and bad. I didnt force the comb it came out pretty easily. I could see all that hair coming out after a month or two but two weeks it sure seemed like an aweful lot.

SourGirl, You have all my support. I went thru the same trauma with GL last week. After 6 years of wearing them ... i decided to take them off and they came of pretty well but to my horrified surprise the residue from it stuck like gum. Turns out the idiot who was putting them on for me ( a renowned NY stylist by the way) never removed the leftovers from the keratin off my hair when we would remove a few and replace them.
I never actually saw him working really hard at removing all that bond before putting a new one in . so the residue would melt again along with the new bond and it piled up overtime. RESULT: although we removed the bonds easily the residue wouldnt come off I had to cut all of my hair off ... luckily i only had the GL on the back of my hair so half my head was saved.
I have micropoints in my hair now, I have had this system installed one week ago and im really happy now. Im just mortified that I had to cut my hair off.
Micropoints are great ... no glue, no heat, no bond. So hopefully it will help me grow a new head of hair .
Good luck to you!

sourgirl- I made the mistake of using the black latex stuff my first time around too, I used acetone... just put a few drops on the glob of glue and let it set for a minute, maybe work it in with your fingers a bit and you should able to pick it out with a comb and your figers really easily.... I'm so sorry you're going through this
Beach bunny I hear you, I had a big problem with GL too alot of breakage resulting in very short hair. Thats why I am so upset I finally go it kind of long and healthy again to have this happen. The back and lower part of my hair is broken and damaged now, considering i had a trim on the 3rd it is so uneven..what are micro points?

Sourgirl, I feel your pain. dont even mention uneven hair to me... the back of my hair is so short now and the front is so shiny and pretty...
The micropoints are hard to describe, they are what is referred to as hair on hair method. Tiny little dots are sewn into your hair with a threat that has the look and texture of a hair but much stronger ( like a nylon threat but completely invisible to the naked eye). the hair they attach comes in nets which allow your own hair to be interlaced thru, thus making the whole thing completely invisible . You can part your hair any way you want it gives the impression that the hair is coming right out of your scalp.
The only thing is... it needs a little more upkeep than great lengths because you need it tightened up every 4 to 6 weeks. Also you want to make sure that whoever is doing it for you is doing it in such a way that it is not putting stress on your scalp and causing you to go bald.
mine are done by a pro ( i think he is the inventor) , i really cannot feel them... i have to say im quite happy with them ... I needed them because they were the only method that could be applied to the top of my head ( unlike most extensions which would be visible there). so it camouflaged that short piece i had in the back and removed the mullet effect i had before with GL.
Treat your hair good... i love OLEO RELAX by kerastase... it took care of some serious damage on my hair. I also love OJON products ( the deep condition is a magic potion I swear )
BeachBunny.. would you mind telling me more about your new hair? I researched it online, but their website doesn't explain much. I have been losing my hair since i was 12 :( and it has literally been the most devastating thing I have dealt with for the last 20 years. I started out with clip in extensions when I was in high school, but my hair got so thin the extensions were visible. Since then, I've been wearing hair systems that are extremely costly and never look or feel like real hair. The newest system I bought looked great for the first month - it looked like hair growing out of my head, but the lace base started to change color and it no longer looks good. Maybe you could email me if your response would be lengthy.. mammagoo@yahoo.com thanks :)
