My friend and I are getting together a list to find out which companies sell snake oil, and which are for real. I will probably post our results on a hair blog.

First on our list is Giuseppe Gambertone from Italy........we found him on an Alibaba search. I personally lost $600. with him. He told my friend he has a video out for proper care and handling of virgin hair and wig-making for $3,400. FOR A VIDEO!
Can you imagine the nerve of this guy? We have other company names we are getting together. Just because there's no better business bureau on the net doesn't give some of these companies the right to rip off customers.
Has anyone heard of VSD hair, based in NY?
He says the hair is European, but collected from countries who have predominately dark hair, not Russia, but in Europe....I'm okay with that. But, he goes on to say he also sells light blonde colors that are undamaged because the color was lifted with some kind of a ray. My friend has been communicating with him. He won't go into detail about the "ray".

I thought at first maybe it was snake oil, or lifted by Great Lengths method of shaking the hair in a type of oxy cleaner. If you haven't heard of it before, it's amazing. They say it's lifted with the same method used on sheeps wool to make white and colored sweaters. Well, after that I thought I'd heard of everything. Guess I was wrong.
I tried to Google this "ray"method, but came up with nothing. Anybody know anything about this method???

LOL! I love that answer.

The only thing I can think that's even close would be UV rays.

UV light breaks down melanin molecules which is why hair can turn lighter or "sun-bleached" during the summer.

How many shades lighter you can get hair using UV ray, I don't know.
