Not sure is any of you will remember me but I used to post a lot on here. It's been quite some time.
So I'm back and I have a few questions that I would really appreciate any help with.
I've had my extensions business for a year and a half now and things are going well (touch wood). I've stuck to fusion bonding up until now as there seems to be a huge demand for it. However, I'm contemplating adding a few alternative techniques and wondered if you could recommend any. I hear micro-links are extremely popular. Would you agree?
I'd basically like to know; which do you think is most popular of all techniques? Which is the 'safest' for natural hair? Which lasts the longest?
My next question is product based. Does anyone have any recommendations for long glue sticks? A reputable supplier?
Many thanks guys. You've always been superstars in the past so I come back in hope. xx
I think it's wise to round out your business offerings by adding a few methods. Micro rings are a popular method and there is demand for it.
I don't think any method is 'safer' than any other one. It just depends on what is appropriate for the client's hair, budget, commitment to up keep, etc.
What I find works well for me are : Shrink Links (the official 'Mark Barrington' brand), micro rings, So Cap USA, sewn in wefts, and skin wefts. With those choices, I can pretty much handle anyone who wants extensions.
As for fusion, I really like the So Cap, but you have to be certified by them to buy from them. I have used the www.donnabellahair.com fusion and I do like it a lot too. It's very long lasting, but yet when it's time to take out, it comes out easily with their alcohol based remover.
I think micro rings can be self taught to someone who is already familiar with the proper sectioning and placement of strands. There are a lot of good tutorials on the Internet.
