Hey all!!! Its been awhile since I posted... I've been in college...busy with finals!

Anyways...A few months ago before I went on Spring Break I got my hair trimmed. The back of my hair seemed to be growing crooked and had one very long peice in the back so I asked them to cut it off so the back was straight. Well, its been a couple months and it hasn't grown back wrong FINALLY.... It looks pretty decent. My question is...should I go get it trimmed NOW so that it doesn't start growing back wrong which would probably lead to me having to get MORE hair cut? Also, the back of my hair does seem to be growing...but the front doesn't!! What should I do? Thanks in advance!

Many reasons. 1 could be that it hasn't even been 24 hours. (Although I know you'd expect people reading my (almost a ) flamefest.

2 could be that some people don't know sufficiently about trimming hair (like me, I know almost nothing about hair care in itself, just what I picked up here.)

3 could be that not everyone in the world logs in daily (although i'd go insane with no net for 24 hours)

If no one gives you a detailed reply in a week, then I could understand. But if you can't wait 23 hours and chump change, that's not our problem.
I hate all of the following and lots more : Fundamentalists, racists, sexists, fascists, ageists (people saying seniors = senile , kids = stupid , 18 = immature or a combo of them), and bigots for causes yet to receive their own designation.

I would suspect that your hair wasn't growing "wrong", that perhaps in a prior trim, the stylist missed a bit and it stuck out.
I don't think a particular section of hair would suddenly have a growth spurt and extend beyond the rest of your hair.

As for trimming your hair now - it's all even, and it's in reasonably good shape, and it's in reasonable health?
Then unless you WANT a trim, you probably don't need one, and I doubt you need to worry about one lock of hair outgrowing the rest. Hair doesn't grow in patches.

And - PATIENCE - patience is the key to growing long hair. Your signature line says "I only hope to have long beautiful hair one day. It's taking forever! *frowns*"
Why are you frowning? Long hair is a journey and you need to keep a good frame of mind about growing it out - don't be unhappy about the fact it takes a long time - be appreciative of your hair at every length - and you will have long hair.

Hi Amber June!

I remember you from the HB boards some time ago. Welcome back from the intensity of final exams. Just as you were busy with finals, so too were some of us busy with other things... so don't worry, in time good and helpful people come along with thoughts and suggestions to various concerns expressed here on this board.

I wonder if your hair not seeming to grow in front has to do with stresses put on it. Shoulder belts, straps, etc, can fray strands caught underneath. Strands can also get caught in the hinges of glasses and get snapped off. There are lots of possibilities but you may want to think about what are the habits that you have that might be stressing the hair strands in front and causing them to break off?

It's very difficult to have "perfect" hair. I am not immune to shorter strands in front, but it isn't noticeable.
