Hello All!!!

I just wanted to stop in and say that I am still here, and still growing. It has been a CRAZY winter for me. I have been sick quite a bit. Just found out that I am alergic to cats, and dogs. And I have cats, and dogs. Hence all the sinus infections. Sooooo, I am hoping to overcome this little obstical in my health.
Anyhow, I have not measured latley, as  it seams  not have grown very much, the last time I did measure, I was greatly discuraged. I can say, that it looks pretty close to waist length. The sides have been catching up nicely, even though the back seams to have stopped.
I hope everyone else has had a healthful year!

Congratulations on your hair length!

I have found that I can tolerate some things I'm allergic to if I avoid some of the other things I'm allergic to (like a glass, you can fill it with different things but you can't let it overflow).  It took me forever to realize that I sneeze and get congested after I eat any bread product, but now that I noticed, I see that if I don't eat wheat, my allergies to my cats and dog go away almost completely.  I hope you have some luck figuring out a way to deal with yours too, so you can still enjoy being around your pets.

Hi, Susan! Hug

It is good to hear  from you! I hope you are doing well. I actually am allergic to grass. Mixed Grassed to be exact. That was my worst reaction. Cats and dogs, I reacted too, but the grasses was by far the worst. The wheel was almost 3 in wide, and the redness wrapped a band around my arm on both sides! compared to that, the pets seemed like large mosquitoe bites!
It makes perfect sence to my to be alegic to grass. Every time my husband mowes the lawn, I have to shut the windows if they are open, or turn off the air co unit ( previosly we had a wall mount, until we bought our house, now we have forced heating and air).I always thought it was dust, being that we are in an almost desert climate, and it gets extremely dusty here.

The dr said I didn't have any food allergies, but I swear up and down that I react to wheat. It may not have shown up on the food allergy aspect, but I can tell an amazing difference when I do or do not eat it.Not to mention that I am surrounded by wheat fields, and during harvest I can hardly go outside.

The sad part is, I used to drink alot of green juices. If you look at the ingredients, there are alot of grasses in them. I am having to revamp alot of my diet.

I refuse to give up my animals. I may just be being stuborn, but It is not going to happen. The  cats will go outside for the most part, and the dogs to, they are German Shephards anyhow. They take up alot of room ! I got a toy aussie for Christmas ( sooooo cute), so he will be an inside dog. He won't get very big,( both his parents are 11 in high), so I am hoping it will not be an issue.

Anyhow, sorry for the long post, I guess I have missed being on here.Have a great Easter!daisy

Bummer, grasses are hard to avoid when they're everywhere outside.    Wheat is a type of grass, so it would make sense to me that you are allergic to both.

I agree, I'll spend the rest of my life with kleenex before I give up having animals.  They bring too much joy!  I'm betting your inside dog will be even easier for you to handle, since the ones that go out are more likely to get grasses in their fur.

Drinking tons of water does help too.  If I can make myself drink a half gallon a day, all goes better.

I got a liquid superfood multi vitamin on friday. I was really excited to get it. I took one dose friday, and that night I got very achy,( I felt like I had gotten hit buy a truck)and I woke up saturday with a nasty headache. I had a lightbulb moment and checked the ingedients. Well.... it was packed with wheat grass, barley grass, you name it! Stupid me, I should have known, after all, it is a "superfood"! Confused
I am just not used to having to check labels to that extent.I have to make myself drink water. It's not that I don't want to, I just don't. I know that it would help with sooo much of what I have going on, I just don't remember to. I do better when I have a refilable water bottle.
We put hay in our dogs pen, for insuation. When he comes in, I could hardly breath. In the past I thought I was just being to sensitive to odors, so it is nice knowing what is happening. As my husband says, I was getting a double wamy... dog and grass at once! Neadless to say we don't use hay anymore.LOL

Welcome back Alisa!  I'm also returning after a long, um, siesta. Wink

Good to hear your hair is "filling in."  That's never a bad thing. Smile  Patience with the length can result in more length later on. angel

I feel for ya on the allergies.  A family member has gluten intolerance.  And the pollen counts here (FL) seem to be much higher than usual this year.

Hey.... That is one way to think of my stagmented growth. The sides and thickness is filling back in. ( After the razor nightmare from the neck down)That makes more sence, since it all but the very back length seems to be growing. I just don't like how my fingers are ever so slowly creeping down the tape measure.Thumbs%20Down
I just saw my allergy dr yesterday, and he still says I don't have any food allergies, but I KNOW I react to wheat. I can feel it! So I will cantinue to try to avoid it.
I would still like to find a good natural multi that dosen't have any grasses in it. I guess I am back at the ol' reaserch band wagon.

Nice new photo Dave!

Yeah, Alisa, it still seems to be the case that many docs don't consider something a food allergy unless you get hives (like peanut and shellfish allergies usually do to people) - I'm surprised an allergist would still think that way though.  If one is allergic to grass, how can they possibly eat a form of it without trouble?  That just doesn't make sense.  Eating wheat makes me congested and gives me acne.  It may not be hives, but its fer sure an allergy!

I stopped taking vitamins awhile back and modified my diet such that I eat something with each vitamin in it every day.  I had trouble finding vitamins that didn't have stuff in it I didn't want to take also.   My hair does grow like molasses, but it always has, even when back I took vitamins.  (Its hard to believe I had it chin length in 2003 and its just now hitting waist length - I had no idea it would take 4 1/2 years!  That's why I never measure, too depressing!)

Hey Alisa!  Glad to know you're hangin' in there.  I get a chance to check in every few weeks.  I've pretty much stopped measuring my hair too.  I can see the ends thickening up and that is enough to satisfy me for now.  I can't believe the time is coming up for me to post new pics on my site!  Time flies by so fast!!

I hope you get your allergy trouble figured out.  It can be a real PAIN.  I'm not all that bad, but worse than many.  I've kinda learned to deal with the sinus stuff and headaches.  It's become routine to me.  It's not so bad I can't tolerate it, I just try to be careful.  But my problem is indoor allergies - dust, cleaning products, air fresheners....... My allergies flare up in places that don't get fresh outdoor air (like office buildings, church, walmart, etc).

Hi, Sarah!!!Hug It is soo good to hear from you!!!
I hope you are doing well, I would love to se some current pics. I should post some as well, but, my computer is acting up, and I can see having issues.
I have a problem with air fresheners also. It really limits which products I can use. They cause instant headaches with me. I don't care what that dr says, I have "experemented" enough to know how I respond, and I dont do well with wheat.
I am hoping, as Susan has said, that I will be able to tolerate the cat and dog allergy better if I stay away from wheat. I have not been very consistant with it, but am hoping to get better at it.It is hard stay away from something that is in everything!
I have a hard time with the fact that to me, my hair is not "That long", when to others it is pretty long. We were in a restaurant yesterday, when a man walked in with hair that was almost to his waist. My husband says,   " wow, his hair is almost as long as yours!" My reaction? ," my hair is that long?!" He ( my husband) would love to grow his hair long, in fact we have talked about it quite often. He does not because he has a pretty destinctive widows peak, and he feals like it would not look good. I don't agree, hence the continual conversations.LOL

I always LOVED widow's peaks on people, I wish I had one.  I wouldn't have bangs to hide my forehead if I did.
