QuoteReplyTopic: so I got the Jessica Simpson Hairdo..... Posted: March 27 2008 at 3:26am
and oh my, this is by far the best solution for my crappy hair that I have tried - I can conceal all of my own hair underneath and dont need to even bother styling it (apart from the top layer) - which is a miracle for me :)
However, there just doesnt seem to be enough hair :( It works If I wear it like my hair is half up half down, my pinning my top layer back...but i dont seem to be very good at this..any tips on how to pin the top layer back and make it look nice??..when i do it it looks like a mass of kirby crips at the back with no style.
Are there any vendors who carry a product exactly like this but with more hair?? - I am so happy to have found a solution as even with clip ins I was needing to straighten my own thick hair which took forever

Hi Somer. So glad you are KIND of happy with your new piece!
Do you mean you wish it had more hair coming around to the ears? Like wider in width? Or do you mean you wish it were thicker? If you want it thicker, you could sew on more wefts to it and trim accordingly. the only thing I can think of if you want it WIDER is to clip in separate pieces above your ears, so it looks like you have more hair; less blending?
Sorry, I'm sure I'm not helping!!!
Love clip-ins and tape!

Thanks fakeizme - Its perfect in the sense that I have a layerd bob and that it hides the length of my natural hair well.
The size of the cap width wise is perfect for me - there just isnt enough hair for me thickness wise. I feel like I have found the right solution for me - just the wrong product.
I could only consider wearing this piece by making it look like I was wearing my hair half up half down as the highest I can place this piece is just below temple to temple and as I have thick hair and short layers on top I cannot leave my top layers down as it looks all thick and poofy on top - then thin and straight (not a good look) So the only way to make this piece look half decent would be to find a way to clip back my top layers and make it look half up half down.
I hope this makes sense, I am not very good at explaining myself

I have this hair as well - I bought the human hair. The one problem I have with this is that the CAP IS WAYYYYYYYYYYYY TO BIG. I've heard a lot of complaints about it. I think they should have made different sized caps. Other than that the hair is nice. I think the product is too overpriced especially when there are so many complaints regarding the cap size. I'm glad you love the piece though! As far as your question - I'm confused on what you are asking. Can you explain?

Karissa Sencion - I have heard lots of people complain about the cap size but I find it perfect and do not consider myself to have a large head - Its weird?!

Somer: I think I understand what you're saying; I know what you mean about the half up-half down thing. I think, for awhile, while your top layers are growing, you will have to find ways to clip up the top (bobby pins, little jaw clips). Perhaps, you could even clip in a weft of hair just above the Jessica piece, so when you clip your top hair up, it will look like that part is long as well? Know what I mean? Play around with it and don't forget sprays and gels!

Hey fakeizme - yea I have been playing around but just cant seem to get it to work - when I clip my top layers back it looks so messy and just looks like a pile of bobby pins at the back. I dont know how to clip it so the pins are more discrete.
This is the look I though I could try and achieve i.e half up half down
You're definitely lucky then Somer. I have a small head LOL and it does not fit me at all. I have to play around it but it then looks lumpy. I love the hair though!

Have you considered using micro links or fusion hair extensions. I myself used to be a BIG fan of Jessica Simpson clip-ins but finally got the courage to try fusion and I love them. I know what you mean about them not having enough hair. PLUS mine fell out on a date, it was so embarrassing for me. I just posted a few photos of my recent install.
