QuoteReplyTopic: Confesssions of a product junkie (product info) Posted: March 29 2008 at 12:52pm
Hello my name is fllwlover and I'm a productolic. I can't help myself, if there's a sale on a new product & it looks promising, I'll buy it. Ever since LF, I see the whole world in a new light...I see things that my friends (who also wear LF) don't see. EVERY & I mean EVERY thing has an alternate purpose to me now.
On the flip side, I want to share about 2 products that I cannot live without. (That being said, I'm a junkie so I have lots I can't live without)
#1 - liquid bandage. Before it I tried, dermatex, ORWG, Blue Liner, Red Liner, Proflex II, Proflex Platinum, Mehron's SG, Ben Nye SG, Graftobian SG, Mastix SG, Mity-Tite & Ultra Hold. Nothing held longer than 2 days.
After it, 5 day hold at the nape & 9 day hold everywhere else. Awww Yeah!
#2 - Hask Pure Shine. Ladies, I went into my local Walgreens to get my son some emergency pull-ups. God forgive me, I couldn't pass the hair isle. I just couldn't . Well I'm glad I didn't! This stuff was calling to me from the bottom shelf. I even called my friend for an intervention, but it didn't work. I couldn't decide between the spray & the serum formula (although I already know the difference. I've been developing a shampoo/conditioner, leave-in line specifically for LF.) so I bought both!
The serum is all cones, smooth it on after wash & airdry. Smooths the hairshaft every time. It can be used on dry hair as well. It doesn't leave the hair feeling greasy or weighed down. (But don't over do it) The spray is great on the curly girls, cuts frizz & doesn't weigh down or reshape the curl pattern and for only $4.99 a pop it's a great price!
Next product consumer report: FX special effects leave in & molding & Fantasia IC hair polisher solid ice pomade......(this stuff is the bomb)

so liquid bandage that you buy at CVS and Walgreens worked as an adhesive? Was it shiny, is it easy to get off the lace? Have you tried it with tape? What do you use to remove it?

No, I don't use it as an adhesive. After prepping skin, I apply a layer of scalp protector, then a layer of liquid bandage, then glue adhesive, & I usually have tape already placed on my lace.
I know it seems like alot, but my skin "eats" adhesives & tape. Blue liner disentigrates & nothing really dried etc for SG. Plus I only sweat around my hairline area.
But the liquid bandage alllowed for longer hold, plus a quicker clean-up & my skin was not irritated at all! It looked better than the rest of my face...
edit: and no, it is not shiny at all. -- My 3 year old just took a picture of me & IT"S GREAT - it's about to become my avi, you'll see, no glare, shine...

I will so have to try that as I am having adhesive issues also. I have oily skin not to mention hot flashes already so sweat too. My hairline is so irritated from all the rubbing in my applying endeavors that it looks horrible. I will pick some of this up tomorrow and definitly give it a go.
