QuoteReplyTopic: Shampoo/Conditioner? Posted: April 08 2008 at 1:00pm
I'm sure you all get asked this question a LOT.. but I'm about fed up with shampoos. I used to have extremely long hair but after a salon incident it all got cut off. Now I'm trying to grow it back out and it's about half way there.
The problem is, my ends are very dry/brittle yet sometimes the roots are greasy. I'm not sure if it's the shampoo I'm using or just my hair.
Currently I'm using Aussie Clense & Mend + Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz conditioner.
Any advice would be awesome. Also, please not something expensive.
I'm really thinking about trying Organix.

I am sorry to hear about your unpleasant salon experience.
Some people use boar bristle brushes to spread the sebum from near the scalp through the rest of the hair. If that doesn't provide enough oil to your ends, you could add a few drops of oil. Put the oil drops in the palm of one hand, rub your palms together, then wipe it off onto your hair.
I also have conditioned my scalp to expect to not be washed every day. Currently I wash my hair twice a week. I'm sure it puts less wear and tear on the hair. Also, I dilute a small amount of shampoo, in an otherwise empty plastic shampoo bottle.
