Alright, so I've read many posts about this subject but I'm not quite sure they have the answer to my question or maybe I'm just completely blind.

Anyways, I've used One n' Only Color Fix many times before and usually have had the same result as I have now. A brassy orange color, even after applying it twice. Which generally isn't a problem but since my roots (a good 2-3 inches) are now back to a very light blonde, it obviously does not look all that natural.

Now I don't want to go to a platinum blonde, I'd like to go to a light golden blonde color. But I'm not sure exactly how to do that. I'm not sure I want to use bleach because although my hair feels pretty soft and healthy, I'm still not sure it's a great idea considering the hell my hair has been through before.

So I suppose what I'm asking is, what should I do to get the orange/brassy color out of my hair to a decent color where I can color it a light golden blonde.

Please, help would be amazing considering I have a wedding coming up soon and I do not want to look like a weirdo with orange hair and bright turqoise color bridesmaid dress.

The only way after colorfix to get the hair lighter...to a light golden blonde is to bleach the hair on the ends to match the level of the roots "very light blonde" then tone all over.  Strand test with some white bleach, not toning bleach, use a 20 vol.  After a few days see how the condition of the hair is, depending on that, go ahead and bleach it.  Really, it's the only way to get to a nice "light" color of anything. Good luck and I hope this helps.
