QuoteReplyTopic: base color to dark for highlights Posted: April 18 2008 at 9:36am
Hi All-Hope someone can clarify my options
I went in for blonde highlights as I am a natural light brown but colored over it with Loreal's color/highlighting kit and it was getting washed out.
Told hairdresser I wanted a look similar to Nicole Ritchies hair as she is brown naturally like me and I love her blonde highlights they look so natural.
Hairdresser opted to put a new base color of a medium brown ; as I had asked for 3 diminsional highlight but she thought that would not make a difference in 3 different colors of blondes.
The result looks like I have grey/silver hair. Since my base color is way too dark for the blond highlights. I went in for a younger look-not to look older!
Can I use color ooops, as I don't want to get rid of my blonde highlights, or shampoo or hot oil it to death to get it a lighter brown.
And could and how can I achieve Nichole Ritchies highlighted color? Should my colorist added more beige to get a better color. It does not look natural at all to me, as I told her I wanted to look naturally blonde-like lNicole. And it looks like dark brown with nice thin blonde highlights.
What should I do? She is out of town in New York for a hair show, so I cant talk to her for a few days

If you don't feel you got what you wanted, I would ask her nicely to fix it. Salons will usually fix it for free if you didn't get what you wanted. That will be a lot easier than trying to do it yourself, now that you have so many different colors in it. Bring a picture of Nicole if you can, the stylist may be thinking of a different look or even misremembering how her hair looks, and this can add confusion.
