Okay. I'm 43 years old and JUST discovered that I have more than one cowlick at the crown of my head. (Surprised I haven't noticed in all this time)
I have been playing around with my clip ins and trying to find better placement for when I do another Supertape/LG install... and as I took a closer look, to my surprise and dismay, I found that I have 3 or 4 cowlicks back there and they all run together. Its like crop circles on my head.
I knew I had one as, even with my natural hair, I had a decided split running sideways down half of the back of my head that I had to work with a bit. It wasn't as bad when my hair was longer, maybe the weight of the hair pulled the hair down more. But, when the hair is short, like mine is now... the parting is way more obvious and impossible to hide extensions in.
And... and this may be the norm, but, I have three times as much hair growing out of the circles, probably the crown, in general, as anywhere else on my head. Is that normal?
So... does anyone else have this type of cowlick thing out there? Any advice on how to work with them? I have tried putting the wefts over the cowlicks, under the cowlicks, next to the cowlicks...
I know it will be better once my own hair is longer but then I won't need the darn extensions up so high anyway.
Help!!!

LOL I don't know why, but when I read the title of this thread, I started singing Salt & Peppa's 'Let's Talk about Sex!' LOL

*ahem...clears throat* Ummmm....I'm not much use here, but I want you to know I am here with my Friday cooler!!! Woopee!!!

I love the 'crop circles' reference. The way you talk about them, it's like you have another head growing from your scalp! LOLCry

I KNOW someone will come along and help. This may be a stupid and obvious question, but have you ever blow-dried the cowlicks in the opposite direction? I know there is some good hair info. you can google about styling cowlicks. I'm going to see if I can find something! See ya!
Love clip-ins and tape!

You are fun and you make me laugh.

Happy Friday!!! WHoo hoo

I haven't tried blow drying my cow licks in an opposite direction as I wasn't aware I had so many until today. lol  But, I will be giving that a try.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Krystal...Yep, I have a few adorable cowlicks things on the top om my head too. This sounds strange, but it works for me. My hair is dark so I paint the cowlick area with a black permanent marker. My girlfriend is a TV weather girl, she's the one to tell me the marker trick. It works really well. I do it every time I color my hair. Mine is shaped like this:   ZZO      It seriously looks like  Zorro was marking his turf on the back of my head! My cowlicks are EVIL.
You probably won't like it, but the only way I've found to put extensions on is to place them very low under the cowlick.
But, on an up note, you can find permanent markers in every color now!

Ha! Krystal you are fun AND humorous as well --- at least you have a sense of humour about your 'crop circles!' LOL

I hate a great weekend, thanks! Hope you did as well --- ugggh...Monday.Confused

Moki: what a great idea! Weirdly enough, I can see how that would work with the dark marker. These are the tips and tricks I'm constantly searching for! Oh man, I thank gawd for coloured mouses, because whenever I have orange roots or exposed extensions, I just dab them with a dark-coloured mousse & voila! problem solved. LOL Just paint it out!
Love clip-ins and tape!

You are right about that mokipono. I don't like it. Cry
But, oh well, it is what it is.
Wow, you do have some cowlick action going on yourself.
Thx for the marker advice. I don't really have any scalp showing as there is so much hair up there. I just can't hide a weft in it. Wink
But, it does sound like a great solution for the cowlick thing if the hair completely parts. Something I never would have thought of.
