Suggestions for going a bit lighter with my natural 5N ( red undertones ) about 3 shades. I will be going to the salon after she did my base darker than my natural with blonde highlights and it looked awful. It has been 5 weeks since, so I have been taking good care of my locks and did the shampoo train.

She did not understand I wanted to go lighter all around as I have been lightning my hair before about 3 shades lighther with boxed kits with highlights on top. I do have about 25% or less gray coming in my new hair growth.

Is it possible to get a light brown/blonde base as I don't want red or brassiness and will that also cover my
small amount of grey? How will the stylist do this because I already have highlights, and I also want more highights around my face.

Will I have to highlight, do the base each visit or would I alternate?
