What's the shiniest hair color you've used, and also, the LEAST smelly, least ammonia, least smell?

Especially if you've used medium blonde, dark blonde hair colors with lots of shine and LITTLE smell let me know.

I'm looking for something for my lowlights if I ever get brave enough to do bleached highlights.

Oh yeah, Redken Shades is fantastic. I hear Chi colours (Farouk) have no smell to them (no ammonia?).
Love clip-ins and tape!

i know about the redken....you have to, in their line add a neutral color for gray coverage....why they have to complicate it up?  goldwell is great, but same thing....have to add to the color.....schwartzkoph rocks.....i use their toner for copperhair and it does so well it can keep me from coloring or anything for up to 8 weeks....

Yeah, I was just reading about how good Schwartzkoph is! Sounds gorgeous and very consistent. Easy to work with too. I'll have to try it.

To "Lovetoclor", could I ask, you said you used the Schwarzkopf TONER for copper hair. Is your hair copper or brown?   And you use the toner mixed with what strength developer? And it's just like using a regular hair color? It sounds PRETTY!!

Do you also use Redken Shades?

i have used redken shades and i have a whole cabinet full of copper colors.....i am a natural red head and use color for gray coverage....now get this, the schwarzkopf toner is actually a conditioning treatment!!!  it is called Igora Toning Mousse.....it is semi perm, but tones and shines your hair and as i said, can hold me off of coloring my hair for a long time if i use it once ever 2-3 weeks.....i have the redken shades book that tells how to mix the formulations....to cover gray, you have to mix in their nb series.....it is not hard....for 25% gray you mix in 25% nb formula and so on....what do you want to do to your hair?  i can probably help if you want me to...

Thank you, Lovetocolor for wanting to help.

"Fakeizme" has also given me wonderful advice and I do appreciate all the help!

Well, my main concern is wanting to find the shiniest blonde color that covers gray very well, high pigment or high dye load or whatever it's called (instead of a real transparent color), and very little smell is important to me. Shine is important and silkiness, too.

I have 40% gray with medium brown hair with lots of red/brass/gold when it's lightened.

What I'd love to do is put in some crown highlights with bleach to a platinum/white blonde, then have the rest of my hair either a beige blonde or a neutral blonde, but since my hair is brown with gray I'm at a loss as to what to do cuz I don't really want bleach all over.

I just don't know what my brown color will look like if I use a light beige blonde hair color in it.   I'm afraid if I use a neutral blonde hair color it will be too yellow.

it's hard to me because of the brassiness if I use color instead of bleach.

I'm thinking of using Satin Develops hair color, it's REAL shiny, but I think it may look too transparent, but I'm not sure.

I don't know what the blondes look like in the Schwarzkopf line.

I also have learned a few fomulas from people who have been nice to give me their fomula - they've been successful with using DOUBLE 40 vol. developer with Miss Clairol ultra light ash blonde mixed with light ash blonde, and lifted their brown hair to baby blonde , no brassiness! But I'm scared of 40 vol., scared it will hurt my hair.

As you can see, I would like to be a really light/platinum baby blonde with silky/shiny hair, but I don't think it will happen, lol.

Satin is the brand of hair color, it is made by a company called Developus, it is REALLY shiny hair color. I haven't used their bleach and was curious about it. Their developers and hair color all have silicones in them! It's a good color line I've heard. I read that their developer was the only developer to use silicones. Thank you!
